Hi JamJamCat, I love the way you draw, you are reaaaaaaaally good at it. I would like to ask you something, you basically use three different pens and you alternate them while you are drawing, when or where in the artwork you decide what kind of pen to use?. I'm new on manga and I need some guidance.
Hi Walfred. Sorry for late reply.... Yes I knew which pen to use for which parts. Those 3 pens are very different. It's like cutting a wood sculpture. You will knew which tools fit which parts. Just like Axe vs Cutter knife vs chainsaw.
G-Pen Nib: Very elastic. Used for drawing main body line or thick lines..etc..
Maru-Pen Nib: Good for drawing thin lines. Mainly used for drawing details things. Eyelash...etc..
Saji-Pen Nib: Can draw smooth and long stable lines. For Hair lines, etc...
I did have same question as you when I begain to draw with dip pen few years ago. And book can't really tell you or helps you to decide which pen to use. So I learned it by trial and error. But nowdays, you are so lucky, there are so many videos helps you to learn it quickly. Watching other drawing do help alot. Better than read books with endless texts and still pictures.
